WHO ARE VAL & VANESSA?

With over 35 years of combined dance experience, Val Clemente and Vanessa Bonilha bring the energy, creativity, and warmth of Rio de Janeiro to Brazilian Zouk. Since joining forces in 2015, they have taken their teaching to stages, studios, and dance floors across the globe — from intimate workshops to major international congresses.

Along the way, they created Zouk Needs You — a methodology and course designed to make technique both deep and accessible, blending structure with freedom and keeping joy at the heart of the learning process. Over the years, they have helped shape and inspire hundreds of dancers worldwide, and have mentored professional couples from multiple cities in Brazil and other countries.

Today, ZNY has reached dancers in cities throughout Brazil and in countries such as Russia, Germany, and Slovakia. Their mission remains simple: to help dancers grow in confidence, connect genuinely with their partners, and fall in love with dancing over and over again.
